It is built around the M-307 respiratory hard hat assembly with a clear polycarbonate visor and filters through a TR-3712N high-efficiency filter, and the NIOSH-approved system reaches an assigned protection factor of 25 when used per its instructions.

3M describes the hard hat assembly's head and visor protection as ANSI Z89.1 and Z87.1 conformant, and the headgear adds integrated head, eye and face protection to the respirator. The TR-302N+ blower sits on the back with a TR-326 high-durability belt, which eases torque on the head and steadies the wearer when working overhead or in tight spots, and the quick-release breathing tube keeps connections simple.

Battery life is 10 to 12 hours on the TR-332 high-capacity lithium-ion battery, which recharges on the TR-341N single-station charger kit.
