DeWalt DCD1624B 20V MAX XR 2 in. Cordless Magnetic Drill Press, Tool Only

The DeWalt DCD1624B is a 20V MAX XR cordless magnetic drill press, supplied as a bare tool for use with existing DeWalt 20V MAX batteries and charger. It drills holes up to 2 in. (50 mm) through 2 in. of structural steel and runs a brushless motor with 10 speed settings, without a cord tying it to an outlet.

Its permanent magnetic base grips steel 1/4 in. or thicker without needing an electrical charge and keeps holding even if power is lost. Two mechanical gears with five variable settings each give the 10 speeds, with no-load ranges of 130-420 and 250-810 RPM, and the anti-rotation e-clutch shuts the tool down if it senses excessive rotation.

The tool-free quick change chuck system moves between 3/4 in. Weldon-style shanks and the supplied 5/8 in. keyed chuck. The drill also has an LED light, Perform & Protect and TOOL CONNECT chip-ready capability (chip not included), and the bare tool weighs 31.8 lbs. DeWalt aims it at general contractors and metal fabricators working on structural steel.
