Generac Protector 45kW Automatic Standby Generator, Aluminum Enclosure, RG04524

The Generac Protector Series 45kW is an automatic backup generator, a standby system that keeps essential appliances and modern technology running through power outages in larger homes. TruePower Technology holds total harmonic distortion under 5% for sensitive electronics, and the unit adds an Evolution controller, an aluminum enclosure, Quiet-Test and Mobile Link compatibility.

The multilingual Evolution controller has an LCD, illuminated membrane pad controls, a covered fuse and a USB port for field software upgrades, plus smart battery charging and voltage adjustment. An external viewing window shows the generator and mainline breaker position at a glance, as NEC code requires, with a prop to hold it open and a hasp for a padlock. Improved customer connection access lowers installation costs.

Aluminum construction gives the enclosure durability and corrosion resistance, including in coastal and salt-water environments, and three of its four sides come off for service or maintenance. Quiet-Test lowers the engine RPM for the weekly self-test. Mobile Link's cellular monitoring is powered by the generator's battery, sets up in under 15 minutes and has a mobile app for iOS and Android devices.
