Generac Protector 40kW Standby Generator, 120/240V 1-Phase, NG/LP, XG04045ANAX
The Generac Protector 40 kW standby generator supplies 120/240 V single-phase backup power to a home or business and starts automatically when it senses an outage. It connects to an existing natural gas or liquid propane supply, and its 4.5 L engine, built only for generator use, runs without a catalytic converter.
The installer selects liquid propane or natural gas at the controller during installation, and that fuel setting cannot be changed afterward. The engine pairs a dual-valve, ultra-low-pressure fuel system with proprietary controls that oversee more than 100 performance functions, keeping it efficient across temperature ranges and elevations.
Quiet-Test Self-Test Mode runs a five-minute check at a lower RPM that uses less fuel and can be programmed weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. With True Power Technology, power quality is utility-grade and total harmonic distortion stays below 5%, which suits sensitive electronics and appliances. Cellular connectivity lets the owner monitor this home standby generator through Mobile Link.
