Generac Protector 40kW Standby Generator, 208/240/480V 3-Phase, CA-MA Emissions
The Generac Protector 40 kW three-phase standby generator in its CA-MA emissions version covers 208/240/480 V service with one configurable model. It leaves the factory set for 208/120 V, and the installer can change it to 240/120 V or 480/277 V by fitting a different Voltage Configuration Cartridge (VCC), available as an accessory.
The generator starts automatically when it senses a power outage. A single-piece VCC sets the output voltage, so changing it needs no wiring diagrams. Quiet-Test Mode runs a five-minute self-test at a lower, quieter speed that uses less fuel, and it can be programmed weekly, biweekly or monthly. TruePower Technology keeps total harmonic distortion below 5% for sensitive electronics and appliances, and surge capacity is designed to start and run large electrical loads.
To resist corrosion in extreme environments, the enclosure is aluminum, the exhaust system is stainless steel and the frame uses electro-galvanized steel and aluminum components. Fuel type is selected at the controller, and the liquid-cooled design keeps a small footprint. Cellular connectivity lets the owner monitor this three-phase backup generator through Mobile Link and the supporting servicer through Fleet.
