Generac Protector 48kW Standby Generator with ecobee, 1-Phase, CA-MA Emissions

The Generac Protector 48 kW standby generator in its CA-MA emissions version supplies 120/240 V single-phase backup power and comes bundled with an ecobee by Generac smart thermostat. The thermostat monitors and controls home energy use with remote visibility into generator status, and the generator starts automatically when it senses an outage.

Integrated HVAC Energy Management lets the ecobee thermostat optimize heating and cooling during an outage, which helps stretch runtime and avoid overloading the generator. Quiet-Test Mode runs a five-minute self-test at a lower, quieter speed that uses less fuel and can be programmed weekly, biweekly or monthly, and TruePower Technology keeps total harmonic distortion below 5%.

Surge capacity is designed to start large electrical loads. To resist corrosion in extreme environments, the enclosure is aluminum, the exhaust system is stainless steel and the frame uses electro-galvanized steel and aluminum components. Fuel type is selected at the controller, and the liquid-cooled design keeps a small footprint. Cellular connectivity lets the owner monitor this home backup generator through Mobile Link and the supporting servicer through Fleet.
