The Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC plasma cutter package pairs two SmartSYNC hand torches, a 75° on a 20 ft lead and a 15°, with a CPC port for CNC hook-up. It has a 5/8 in. recommended cut and 1-1/8 in. severance on 200-240 V single-phase power, and adds a 45-85 A Max Control gouging cartridge to the 45 A hand cutting cartridge.

Alongside the two torches and two cartridges, the kit holds a 20 ft work clamp and the operator and safety manuals. Input current is 39 A at 200 V and 33 A at 240 V, and an engine drive needs 10 kW for the full 45 A output. Recommended air pressure is 90 psi (5.9 bar) for cutting and 60 psi (4.1 bar) for gouging. The power supply weighs 31 lbs with torch, measures 17.4 x 6.8 x 14.1 in. (D x W x H) and has a 10 ft input power cable.

RFID-enabled SmartSYNC torches set up the process automatically, and each single-piece cartridge records trackable usage data. End-of-life detection at the torch and the power source shows when to change a cartridge, and a spent cartridge keeps that status so it cannot be reused by mistake. Each torch handle adds a cap sensor that confirms the cartridge is seated, a cartridge reader, ready-state LEDs, a 7-step amperage LED with seven presets, a lock switch for consumable changes with the power supply on, and a safety trigger.
