The Hypertherm Powermax85 SYNC plasma cutter in this dual-torch package covers handheld and mechanized work, with a 25 ft 75° SmartSYNC hand torch and a 35 ft 180° machine torch. The CPC-port power source cuts and gouges up to 1 in. (25 mm) on 200-600 V single- or three-phase power, and a 25 ft on/off remote pendant (128650) is included.

Also supplied are a work clamp on a 25 ft lead, two 85 A mechanized cartridges, two 85 A hand cartridges and the operator and safety manuals. Each SmartSYNC torch picks up the RFID data on its single-piece cartridge and passes it to the power source, which sets up the process automatically. A sensor in each torch cap checks that the cartridge is seated properly, and both torch and power source detect a worn-out cartridge, which then stays flagged as spent and cannot be used again.

Input is 200-600 V at 50-60 Hz. The power source weighs 67 lbs and measures 19.7 x 9.2 x 17.9 in. (L x W x H). Travel speed is 20 ipm on 1 in. metal, and the recommended air supply is 85 psi (5.9 bar) at 400 scfh (6.7 scfm). Color-coded cartridges come in hand, gouging, mechanized/stand-off and FlushCut/HyAccess types, with consumable life data tracking.
