Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC Plasma Cutter, 20 ft Hand and 25 ft Machine Torches

The Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC plasma cutter package comes with two torches, a 75° hand torch on a 20 ft lead and a 180° machine torch on a 25 ft lead, plus a CPC port and voltage divider on the 230 V CSA power supply. It gouges, cuts and marks with single-piece cartridges at 9-45 A, with a 5/8 in. (16 mm) recommended cut.

Input is 230 V single-phase at 50/60 Hz drawing 33 A, and a generator needs 12.5 kVA (10 kW) for the full 45 A output. Kilowatt output is 6.9 kW and electrical efficiency is 90%. Cutting and gouging run on clean, dry, oil-free air, nitrogen or F5, and marking runs on air. Recommended cutting is 5/8 in. at 20 ipm, with hand-cutting severance of 1-1/8 in. (29 mm) at 5 ipm.

RFID-enabled SmartSYNC torches and cartridges set amperage and operating mode automatically, the laser-marked cartridges are color-coded by process, and end-of-life detection shows when to change one. With a hand torch and a machine torch on one power supply, the package covers freehand plasma cutting and mechanized work. Weight with the 20 ft torch is 31 lbs (14 kg), and the IGBT inverter unit measures 17.4 x 6.8 x 14.1 in. with handles.
