Lincoln Electric Activ8X Portable Wire Feeder with CrossLinc, Tweco, No Gun

The Lincoln Electric Activ8X is a portable, semiautomatic wire feeder for shipbuilding, offshore and construction welding, compact enough for manways and easy to carry around a job site. CrossLinc Technology puts voltage or current adjustment at the arc with no control cable, and True Voltage Technology (TVT) holds the set voltage at the arc even hundreds of feet from the power source.

Cutting out control cables means fewer trips back to the machine and less clutter on the jobsite, which helps safety, quality and productivity. The case is impact resistant and flame retardant, and the PC boards are potted against moisture and corrosion, so the feeder holds up in tough conditions.

A heavy-duty cast aluminum Maxtrac wire drive feeds the wire, with tachometer feedback keeping wire feed speed accurate. Spools up to 8 in. (203 mm) in diameter fit, which covers the 10, 11 and 12 lb sizes. This version has a Tweco-style input connector and comes without a MIG gun.
