Lincoln Electric Frontier 400X Diesel Welder Generator, 400A, Perkins, K3484-1

The Lincoln Electric Frontier 400X (Perkins, K3484-1) is a diesel welder generator for DC multi-process welding up to 400 A (IEC rated 325 A), with 11 kW of continuous three-phase power for plasma cutters, pumps and inverter welders. A turbocharged 24.7 hp Perkins 403F-15T engine meeting EPA Tier 4 Final drives it.

Six optimized CC and CV modes cover a wide range of welding and carbon arc gouging work, and advanced modes add pulsed TIG, pulsed MIG, STT and support for mechanized equipment. Auxiliary power is available at 240 VAC three-phase as well as 120/240 VAC single-phase. The bright 7 in. digital interface saves and recalls weld parameter memories, gives maintenance reminders and offers optional PIN user authorization.

The turbocharged Perkins engine is built for smooth, quiet running, cold-weather starts and high-altitude work, and its 20 gal. (75.7 L) fuel tank pairs with Auto-Stop/Start to cut excess idling, fuel use and engine wear. CrossLinc sends voltage or current commands through a standard weld cable, so settings change at the arc with no separate control cable, True Voltage Technology (TVT) offsets voltage drop, and patented Chopper Technology is built in.
