Lincoln Electric Frontier 400X Pipe Diesel Welder Generator, Kubota, K3485-4
The Lincoln Electric Frontier 400X Pipe (Kubota, K3485-4) is a diesel welder generator for cross-country pipeline work, with a dedicated Pipe mode whose DigFX technology produces a smooth, classic DC-style arc on downhill pipe. It offers up to 400 A (IEC rated 325 A), 11,000 W of continuous three-phase power and a 24.8 hp Kubota D1503-M engine.
Output ranges are 30-400 A for stick and pipe (SMAW), 5-400 A for DC TIG (GTAW), 60-400 A for arc gouging with carbons up to 5/16 in. (8.0 mm) and 10-45 V in CV-wire mode for MIG (GMAW) and self- or gas-shielded flux-cored welding; pulsed MIG and orbital MIG are supported as well. A Spool Gun mode supports the Magnum PRO 250LX GT for aluminum and specialty wire, and peak open-circuit voltage is 71 V at 1800 RPM.
Single-phase power is 10,000 W continuous (11,500 W peak) at 120/240 V and three-phase power 11,000 W continuous (12,500 W peak) at 240 V, through NEMA 5-20R, 14-50R and 15-50R receptacles. The naturally aspirated, water-cooled Kubota diesel meets EPA Tier 4 Final, runs from a 20 gal. (75.7 L) tank with Auto-Stop/Start and has a 400-hour oil change interval, up from 150 hours. The unit weighs 1035 lbs (469 kg) and measures 35.9 x 25.3 x 60 in. (H x W x D).
