The Lincoln Electric Outback 145 is a compact gas welder generator designed for one-person portability, weighing 234 lbs (106 kg). Its 8.9 HP Kohler CH395 engine delivers up to 145 A of DC stick welding and 4,750 W peak (4,250 W continuous) AC power, suiting farms and ranches, fence contractors, service trucks and pipeline maintenance crews.

Stick (SMAW) electrodes up to 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) cover maintenance, repair and light fabrication on carbon steel, cast iron and hardfacing, and the DC arc stays stable out of position and overhead. Adding a POWER MIG 140C or POWER MIG 180C wire feeder, not included, opens up MIG and flux-cored wire welding. The generator runs grinders, work lights, water pumps and battery chargers, or provides emergency backup power.

A 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) tube frame protects the machine, and Low-Lift Grab Bars at both ends give leverage when lifting it onto or off a truck bed. The air-cooled, single-cylinder gasoline engine uses a recoil start and draws from a 6.8-gallon (25.7 L) tank for long run times. The engine-driven welder comes with its operator's manual and safety documentation; welding leads and electrode holders are not included.
