The Lincoln Electric Outback 185 (K2706-2) is a portable gas welder generator for DC stick welding and AC power, with 50-185 A of output for electrodes up to 5/32 in. (4 mm). A 14 HP Kohler CH440 engine supplies 5,700 W peak and 5,200 W continuous at 120/240 V, and the machine weighs 295 lbs (134 kg).

All engine controls, including the electric start switch and choke, sit on the front panel, which helps when the unit is mounted on a truck bed, and Low-Lift grab bars at both ends make loading and unloading easier. A 1-1/4 in. (32 mm) tube frame protects the welder, and the 6.8-gallon (25.7 L) tank has a large fill opening.

Connecting a POWER MIG 140C or 180C wire feeder adds MIG and flux-cored welding, and a Tomahawk 375 Air plasma cutter can be run for metal cutting. AC power at 60 Hz reaches NEMA 5-20R and NEMA 6-50R receptacles to run work lights, grinders and pumps, start motors or supply emergency backup.
