Lincoln Electric Prism Mobile Welding Fume Extractor Base Unit, MERV 16, K1653-5
The Lincoln Electric Prism Mobile is a low-vacuum mobile welding fume extractor for light to medium duty work in changing locations, and this K1653-5 base unit carries a MERV 16 filter. The capture device is chosen separately, either one of several extraction arm models or a hose and hood set, to suit the work area.
Airflow is 735 CFM with a flexible 10 ft or 13 ft extraction arm, and the real figure varies with arm length, fan type and system maintenance. Front casters and rear wheels let the unit roll to the job, and it helps reduce dust and dirt around the operator and the surrounding work area.
An internal spark arrestor acts as a pre-filter, catching larger-sized particulate and keeping sparks off the filter. A filter status indicator gives a visual guide to remaining filter life, and the large surface area filter keeps changeovers to a minimum. Typical settings are training schools, maintenance and repair, and small manufacturing facilities; the unit is not suitable for cutting or arc gouging.
