Lincoln Electric Sprinter 180Si Stick/TIG Welder, 120/230V, Hand Amptrol One-Pak
The Lincoln Electric Sprinter 180Si is a portable DC stick and pulsed TIG welder for 120 V or 230 V power, and the Hand Amptrol TIG One-Pak & Case is its TIG-ready package with a Hand Amptrol. Switching to 230 V brings 180 A for stick and 200 A for DC TIG, and the welder itself weighs 19.5 lbs (8.85 kg).
Both outputs depend on input voltage. With 230 V, stick spans 20-180 A (rated 180 A at 26.4 V, 25% duty cycle) and DC TIG spans 10-200 A (rated 200 A at 16.4 V, 25%). With 120 V, stick spans 10-85 A and TIG 10-110 A, both rated at 40% duty cycle, which makes light-duty repair work possible on a 20 A household or generator circuit. Rods up to 3/32 in. suit 120 V, and the maximum on 230 V is 5/32 in. (4.0 mm).
For stick (SMAW) there are two arc modes, Crisp Arc for 6010/6011 cellulosic rod and Soft Arc for 7018 low-hydrogen, backed by Hot Start and arc force. TIG (GTAW) starts by high frequency or Lift-Arc, with DC pulse adjustable from 0.1 to 100 PPS. The Hand Amptrol plugs into the 8-pin Amphenol connector, which also accepts a foot Amptrol. The work lead connects Dinse-style, and because the output is DC only, the machine cannot TIG weld aluminum.
