Lincoln Electric Square Wave 205 AC/DC TIG/Stick Welder, 120/230V, Foot Pedal
The Lincoln Electric Square Wave 205 is a portable AC/DC TIG/stick welder that detects 120 V or 230 V input automatically and reaches 205 A of TIG output on 230 V. The 36 lb (16.3 kg) machine comes with a Caliber TIG torch, a 25 ft Foot Amptrol, a gas regulator/flowmeter, work and electrode leads and a TIG consumable kit.
For aluminum welding, AC frequency from 60 to 150 Hz narrows or widens the bead, and AC balance from 60 to 90% shifts the split between oxide cleaning and penetration. Pulse frequency runs 0.1-500 Hz on 230 V and 0.1-20 Hz on 120 V. AC TIG covers aluminum and magnesium, DC TIG handles stainless, mild steel, chrome-moly and titanium, and the stick side (SMAW) has DC settings for E6010 and E7018 with a choice of crisp or soft arc. On 230 V it welds aluminum up to 3/8 in. and steel up to 1/2 in.
A 4.3 in. full-color LCD in English, Spanish or French includes a parameter guide that suggests amperage, tungsten size and filler for the chosen material and thickness. TIG (GTAW) arcs start by touchless high frequency, or by lift TIG when HF interference has to be avoided. The kit includes a 12.5 ft Caliber torch with flexible head rated 200 A, the 25 ft Foot Amptrol (K870) on a 6-pin Lincoln connector, a 10 ft work cable and clamp, a 200 A electrode holder and a 120 V/230 V input adapter; filler metal and a gas cylinder are not supplied.
