The Lincoln Electric Tomahawk 45 plasma cutter is a portable 45 A system that weighs 28 lbs, so one person can carry it to the job site, and it comes with an LC40 hand torch on a 20 ft (6 m) cable. Its cut capacity is 1/2 in. recommended, 5/8 in. maximum and 3/4 in. severance, and it works on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.

Setup is simple: connect compressed air, pick up the torch and start cutting. A 2.8 in. LCD shows the parameters, continuous output control focuses the arc for different material thicknesses, and the front-panel purge control sets airflow without striking an arc. Touch Start lights the arc without high frequency, and Rapid Arc Restrike keeps cutting through gaps, grating and expanded metal.

The Parts-in-Place system confirms the torch and consumables are installed correctly before cutting or gouging, and numerous torch consumables cover a wide range of hand-held jobs. For remote sites, an engine-driven welder/generator recommended by Lincoln Electric can power the unit. Also supplied are an air regulator with pressure gauge, an internal water separator, a work clamp and cable, spare consumables, a shoulder strap and an input power cord.
