The Lincoln Electric Vantage 441X is a turbocharged Perkins diesel welder generator designed for demanding jobsites, with an IEC rating of 400 A and a 41.0 hp engine that runs smoothly in cold weather and at high altitude. CrossLinc control at the arc, True Voltage Technology and pulse and orbital pipe modes join 11,000 W single-phase and 17,000 W three-phase continuous auxiliary power.

This engine-driven welder runs CC stick at 30-525 A, arc gouging at 60-525 A, downhill pipe at 40-350 A, touch-start TIG at 20-350 A and CV wire at 10-45 V. Gouging takes carbon rods up to 3/8 in. (9.5 mm), and Chopper Technology keeps the engine from stalling under heavy gouging. Processes span stick (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), pulsed MIG and flux-cored welding, with custom modes for stainless steel, aluminum and steel plus SAW and orbital pipe.

CrossLinc changes voltage or current at the arc over the weld cable with no control cable, and True Voltage Technology compensates for voltage drop. The Perkins 404F-E22T is a 41.0 hp, four-cylinder, turbocharged, water-cooled diesel of 134 cu. in. (2.2 L) meeting EPA Tier 4 Final, with a 20 gal (75.7 L) tank. The welder/generator outputs run through NEMA 5-20R, 14-50R and 15-50R receptacles, and the unit weighs 1414 lbs (641 kg) and measures 39.1 x 28.4 x 65.1 in.
