The Miller Blue Star 185 is a compact gas welder generator for stick and DC TIG welding, rated 185 A at 25 V and a 20% duty cycle. A 13.4 hp Kohler gasoline engine with electric start supplies 6,200 W continuous and 6,500 W peak single-phase power for farm and ranch, maintenance and hobby work.

This engine-driven welder delivers 185 A at 25 V with a 20% duty cycle, or 150 A at 25 V with a 100% duty cycle, across a 60-195 A range for stick (SMAW) and DC TIG (GTAW) on steel and stainless steel. The Kohler engine idles at 2500 RPM and runs at 3600 RPM while welding, auto-idle and an engine hour meter are built in, and the tank holds 6.25 gallons. Weld and generator outputs are rated at 104°F (40°C).

As a welder/generator it powers tools through 120 VAC GFCI and 240 VAC receptacles with covers, and its generator output follows Miller's Accu-Rated standard. The unit measures 24.75 in. high, 20.625 in. wide and 31.25 in. long, weighs 296 lbs and takes up little truck space; a lift eye and running gear or a cart are optional, and the running gear makes it one-person portable.
