Miller CST 282 Stick/TIG Welder, 280A, 208-575V, Dinse-Style Connectors, 907810
The Miller CST 282 is a portable stick and DC TIG welder for pipe and plate work in construction, rated 280 A at 31.2 VDC and 35% duty cycle. Auto-Line technology accepts any input from 208 to 575 V, single- or three-phase at 50 or 60 Hz, without manual linking, and this version is fitted with Dinse-style connectors.
Stick output adjusts from 30 to 280 A and TIG (GTAW) from 5 to 280 A, with a maximum open-circuit voltage of 103 VDC. Adaptive Hot Start helps stick electrodes start without inclusions, Lift-Arc starts the TIG arc without high frequency to limit electrode contamination, and the voltage reducing device (VRD) drops output voltage during pauses. Amperage is preset and monitored on a digital meter with push-button controls.
At 34.6 lbs, 7 pounds lighter than the previous CST model, the welder is carried by its handles and measures 18.5 in. L x 8 in. W x 13.5 in. H. It suits construction, shipbuilding, infrastructure, mechanical contracting, field and in-plant maintenance and training programs, welds steel, stainless steel and specialty metals, and can be rack mounted in 4- and 8-pack racks that share one primary power cable.
