Miller Filtair Capture 5 Welding Fume Extractor, 900 CFM, 12 ft Arm, 460V

The Miller Filtair Capture 5 is a source-capture welding fume extractor built around a ZoneFlow arm that pulls in fume from up to 5 ft away from the nozzle. It delivers 900 CFM of Accu-Rated airflow through a self-cleaning FilTek XL filter rated MERV 16. This package pairs the extractor with a 12 ft arm and runs on 460 V, 60 Hz power.

ZoneFlow technology gives the arm a much wider capture area than other source-capture designs, so the arm needs repositioning less often. The suction head sets up a negative-pressure zone that draws air in toward the arm's center from a greater distance, which makes it more effective than ambient fume extraction. The pre-assembled, balanced arm moves easily, holds its position and rotates a full 360 degrees for welding fume extraction around the work.

Automatic cleaning keeps the FilTek XL filter, with 452 sq ft (42 sq m) of MERV 16 media, working longer between changes. The 3 HP motor delivers 900 CFM (425 L/sec.) on 460 V, 60 Hz input, and the sound level is about 77 dBA at 5 ft. The extractor measures 43 x 36 x 48 in. (H x W x D) and weighs 610 lbs; the 12 ft arm adds 184 lbs and has a 10 in. (254 mm) diameter, and the unit rolls on lockable swivel casters.
