The Miller Fusion 185 welder generator is a 242 lb engine-driven stick and DC TIG welder with electric start and PowerShift technology, so it can weld on power from its 13.4 hp Kohler gasoline engine or from a 120/240 V utility supply. It is rated 185 A at a 20% duty cycle and provides 6,200 W of continuous generator power.

PowerShift gives one machine two power sources, the Kohler engine or 120 V or 240 V utility power, and the multi-voltage plug (MVP) makes the connection to either voltage, so the same welder covers outdoor and indoor jobs. Inverter technology produces a smooth, stable stick (SMAW) arc that tolerates changes in arc length and travel speed, which helps deliver clean welds that meet specification with less rework. TIG DC (GTAW-DC) is the second process, steel and stainless steel are the weldable metals, and the Fusion targets farm and ranch, construction, fabrication, mobile MRO and work truck use.

Rated output is 185 A at 26.4 V and a 20% duty cycle, or 110 A at 24.4 V at 100%, across a 30-185 A range. The 13.4 hp Kohler engine idles at 2500 RPM, runs at 3600 RPM when welding and carries a 6.25 gal. (23.7 L) tank, while the generator side delivers 6,200 W continuous and 6,500 W peak single-phase power. Miller puts the 242 lbs weight at up to 50 lb less than similar machines; the unit measures 24.75 x 20.625 x 31.25 in. (H x W x L), and a lift eye and running gear/cart are optional.
