Miller Maxstar 161 STH DC TIG/Stick Welder, X-Case Fingertip Contractor Package
The Miller Maxstar 161 STH is a DC TIG/stick welder, and this X-Case Fingertip Contractor Package builds on the 13 lb inverter with a 12.5 ft Weldcraft A-150 TIG torch, an RCCS-6M remote fingertip control, a regulator/flow gauge with gas hose, an AK2C accessory kit and a protective X-Case. It runs on 120 V or 240 V input.
The AK2C accessory kit supplies nozzles, collets and collet bodies, a short back cap and 2% ceriated tungsten electrodes in .040, 1/16 and 3/32 sizes. The 12.5 ft (3.8 m) TIG torch and the 13 ft stick electrode holder both use 25 mm Dinse-style connectors, the work clamp is 10 ft long, and separate 6.5 ft input cords handle 120 V and 240 V. The protective Miller X-Case (301429), the RCCS-6M control (195184), a handle/shoulder strap and a quick reference guide complete the package.
TIG output runs 5-130 A on 120 V and 5-160 A on 240 V, and stick runs 20-90 A and 20-160 A, with duty cycle of 30% at 90 A (120 V) and 20% at 160 A (240 V). TIG pulse is adjustable from 0 to 150 pulses per second, and a built-in gas solenoid removes the need for a gas valve on the torch. Adaptive Hot Start and Stick-Stuck support stick (SMAW) work, and the DC-only output cannot TIG weld aluminum.
