Miller Maxstar 210 STR DC Stick/TIG Welder, Lift-Arc TIG, 120-480V, 907682

The Miller Maxstar 210 STR is a 38 lb DC stick/TIG welder that hooks up to single- or three-phase power from 120 to 480 V through Auto-Line, with no manual linking. TIG starts by Lift-Arc, as the machine has no high-frequency start, and it welds steel and stainless steel but not aluminum.

For stick (SMAW), adaptive Hot Start raises output at the strike when a start needs it, the arc runs E6010 rod on all input voltages, and Low OCV Stick lowers open-circuit voltage to 9-14 VDC at idle; maximum OCV is 80 VDC. Dual TIG and dual stick schedules, digital meters and Pro-Set presets for balance, frequency, pulse and DIG speed up setup, and QuietPulse softens the DC pulse waveform for quieter pulsed TIG (GTAW).

Included are the power source, an 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord, an adjustable shoulder strap and two 50 mm Dinse-style connectors, and the case has handles, with an optional running gear/cart. A memory card port takes software updates, a standby timer powers the machine down when idle, Fan-On-Demand limits fan noise and dust intake, and Wind Tunnel Technology uses internal airflow to protect the electrical components and PC board. Mobile fabrication and MRO work in shipbuilding and farm and ranch settings are typical uses.
