Miller Maxstar 280 TIGRunner DC TIG Welder, Coolmate 1.3, Cart, 208-575V

The Miller Maxstar 280 TIGRunner is a DC TIG welder package that puts the Maxstar 280 TIG/stick inverter on a Small Runner Cart with a Coolmate 1.3 cooler. The power source delivers 1-280 A, welds steel up to 3/8 in. thick and connects through Auto-Line to single- or three-phase power from 208 to 575 V.

Package contents are the Maxstar 280, the Coolmate 1.3, the Small Runner Cart, an 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord, an adjustable shoulder strap and two 50 mm Dinse-style connectors; TIG torch accessories and coolant are not part of the TIGRunner. This is the standard model, DC TIG (GTAW) only, and it will not TIG weld aluminum, while the DX TIGRunner (907539001) adds pulser functions, preflow, full trigger options and extended sequencer ranges.

Quiet Pulse reduces audible noise, Pro-Set removes guesswork from parameter setting, and a sleep timer powers the machine down after a set idle time. Meter calibration supports certification, Auto-Postflow is built in, and stick (SMAW) gets dual schedules, DIG, adaptive Hot Start and Stick-Stuck protection. Low OCV Stick limits idle open-circuit voltage to 9-14 VDC, and the arc handles E6010 rod on every input voltage.
