Miller Maxstar 280 DX Pulsed DC TIG/Stick Welder with CPS, 208-575V, 907539

The Miller Maxstar 280 DX with CPS is a pulsed DC TIG/stick inverter welder with an integrated 120-volt receptacle for a Coolmate 1.3 cooler. It delivers 1-280 A, welds steel from 0.004 in. to 3/8 in. thick, weighs 50 lbs and runs on single- or three-phase power from 208 to 575 V through Auto-Line.

As the deluxe model, the DX adds pulser functions, preflow, full trigger options and extended sequencer ranges to the essential TIG and stick controls. The CPS outlet is dedicated to the Coolmate 1.3 and is switched on by the welder's power switch to help prevent torch failure. QuietPulse softens the DC pulse waveform for quieter pulsed TIG (GTAW), and Pro-Set provides preset balance, frequency, pulse and DIG values.

Stick (SMAW) has DIG arc control, from a smooth 7018 arc to a stiffer, more penetrating 6010 arc, and adaptive Hot Start for positive starts. Air carbon arc (CAC-A) cutting and gouging is also supported, and the machine welds stainless and specialty metals as well as steel. Typical work covers fabrication, process pipe, tube and pipe fabrication, and refineries and power plants, in industries such as aerospace and shipbuilding. Included are an 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord, an adjustable shoulder strap and two 50 mm Dinse-style connectors.
