Miller Maxstar 280 DX TIGRunner DC TIG Welder, Coolmate 1.3, Cart, 208-575V

The Miller Maxstar 280 DX TIGRunner is a DC TIG welder package that mounts the deluxe Maxstar 280 DX TIG/stick inverter on a Small Runner Cart with a Coolmate 1.3 cooler. The DX adds pulser functions, preflow, full trigger options and extended sequencer ranges, and Auto-Line input accepts single- or three-phase power from 208 to 575 V.

The package holds the Maxstar 280 DX, the Coolmate 1.3, the Small Runner Cart, an 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord, an adjustable shoulder strap and two 50 mm Dinse-style connectors; TIG torch accessories and coolant are not included with the TIGRunner. Output reaches 280 A with a 60 VDC open-circuit voltage, and the machine welds steel from 0.004 in. (0.1 mm) to 3/8 in. (9.5 mm). Being DC TIG (GTAW) only, it will not TIG weld aluminum.

QuietPulse lowers noise during DC pulse welding, Pro-Set handles presets, a sleep timer shuts the machine down when idle, and meter calibration supports certification. Stick (SMAW) features include dual schedules, DIG, adaptive Hot Start and Stick-Stuck, Auto-Postflow is built in, and Low OCV Stick keeps idle open-circuit voltage to 9-14 VDC. The Maxstar 280 power source itself weighs 47 lbs and has dual carry handles.
