The Miller Maxstar 400 Complete is a water-cooled DC TIG welder package with wireless foot control, built around a compact power source that welds material up to 5/8 in. thick. It adds a Coolmate 4 PRO coolant system, a 25 ft Weldcraft CS310 water-cooled torch, a regulator/flowmeter and a cart, and Auto-Line input accepts 208-575 V.

Package contents: the Coolmate 4 PRO with low-conductivity premixed coolant, 4 gallons (043810), the CS310 torch with a cable cover and a CS310AKC accessory kit (2% cerium tungsten electrodes in 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8 in. plus cups, collets and collet bodies), a wireless remote foot control (301580), a Smith HM2051A-580 regulator/flowmeter with gas hose, a 15 ft (4.6 m) 1/0 weld lead with clamp and Dinse connector, an 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord and a quick reference guide. The cart has a single cylinder rack, a foot pedal holder, three cable/torch holders and two TIG electrode filler holders.

The Maxstar 400 pulses DC TIG (GTAW) at up to 5000 pulses per second, which steadies the arc, lowers heat input and warpage and can speed travel, with peak amperage, peak time and background amperage adjustable. Blue Lightning gives non-contact high-frequency starts, a 120 V auxiliary receptacle can power the cooling system or small tools, a 7 in. LCD and nine program memories handle setup, meter calibration supports certification, and stick (SMAW) work has DIG and Hot Start.
