Miller Multimatic 255 Multiprocess Welder (208-575 V)
The Multimatic 255 is a compact multiprocess welder with a 5-350 A amperage range for MIG, pulsed MIG, stick, DC Lift Arc TIG and DC pulsed TIG, plus air carbon arc cutting and gouging. It weighs 84 lb, has a 7-inch color LCD and accepts 208-575 V input, and the package includes a 15 ft MDX-250 MIG gun.
Pulsed MIG keeps heat input low, so thin material distorts less, and the reduced spatter leaves less to grind afterward. Program mode stores favorite weld settings for recall, Locks and Limits restrict parameter ranges to stay within the welding procedure specification, and the USB port supports software updates, settings backup and transfers of saved programs between units.
Capacity runs from 22 ga. to 1/2 in. mild steel and 18 ga. to 1/2 in. aluminum in MIG, 24 ga. to 3/8 in. in TIG and 16 ga. to 5/16 in. in stick. Input is 208, 220/230/240, 460/480 or 575 V at 50/60 Hz, 6010 stick electrodes are supported, and a generator of 12000 W or more gives full output. Running gear is optional.
