Miller PipeWorx 400 Multiprocess Pipe Welder Power Source, 575V 3-Phase, 907384
The Miller PipeWorx 400 Multiprocess Welder power source is built for pipe fabrication shops, with preloaded MIG programs plus RMD and pulsed MIG processes aimed at high-quality pipe welds. This version runs on 575 V three-phase power, weighs 225 lbs and comes with side-mount cable hangers; the power cord is not included.
RMD (Regulated Metal Deposition) is a precisely controlled short-circuit transfer that gives a calm arc and puddle, less spatter and a lower risk of cold lap or lack of fusion in the root pass. It needs less puddle manipulation and tolerates hi-lo conditions, which shortens training, and its thicker root bead can make a hot pass unnecessary. In some stainless steel jobs the backing (purge) gas may be dropped.
Output covers stick (SMAW) from 40-400 A, DC TIG (GTAW) from 10-350 A with HF or Lift-Arc starts, and MIG (GMAW) from 10-44 V at 400 A. Setup takes few steps, with process and electrode selection, MIG type selection, a memory card slot, a left/right feeder button and dedicated connections for each cable. The power source is three-phase only.
