Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter, 120/240V, 5/8 in. Cut, 12 ft Torch
The Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME plasma cutter puts 40 A and a 5/8 in. mild steel cutting capacity into a 21 lb portable unit. Auto-Line circuitry accepts 120-240 VAC single-phase power at 50/60 Hz, and this version includes an XT40 hand-held torch on a 12 ft cable with a full set of 40 A consumables, MVP adapters, a shoulder strap and the X-CASE.
The 12 ft (3.7 m) power cord ends in a 240 V L6-30P twist-lock plug, and the MVP adapters (6-50P for 240 V, 50 A and 5-15P for 120 V, 15 A) fit either receptacle without tools. Full output is available from generators of 8000 W (8K) or more, such as a Miller Bobcat or Trailblazer, while smaller generators limit output. The capacity rating assumes a travel speed of about 15 inches per minute.
Auto-Refire switches the pilot arc automatically on expanded metal or several pieces of metal, and automatic air regulation holds the recommended torch pressure. The XT40 torch has a no-slip handle with a thumb guide and finger contours, and the quick-connect work lead uses a smaller heavy-duty clamp. The Fan-On-Demand fan switches on only when cooling is needed, and the consumables box adds two electrodes, two 40 A tips, one 30 A tip, a 30 A drag shield, a deflector and an air fitting.
