The Miller Syncrowave 400 is an AC/DC TIG and stick welder offering 5-400 A and a 30% duty cycle at 400 A. Auto-Link configures it for 208, 240 or 480 V on single- or three-phase power. This machine-only version comes with the power source, an 8 ft power cord (no plug), two Dinse connectors and the owner's manual.

AC squarewave output clears the oxide layer for aluminum welding, and AC balance is adjustable from 60% to 80%, with Pro-Set returning it to 68%. Pulsed TIG can raise puddle agitation and travel speed while lowering heat input and distortion. In stick (SMAW) mode the DIG control is turned down for smooth-running 7018 rods and up for stiffer 6010 rods, and adaptive Hot Start helps prevent sticking.

Blue Lightning HF and Lift-Arc starts, Auto-Postflow and line voltage compensation, which holds settings through supply swings of plus or minus 10 percent, are standard, and fan-on-demand cooling runs only when required. An Arc Timer/Cycle Counter logs arc time and arc starts for job costing. Capacity is 1/2 in. steel and 3/8 in. aluminum; the power source weighs 131 lbs and measures 29.4 in. H x 15 in. W x 24.6 in. D.
