The Optrel e3000X PAPR with the Clearmaxx grinding mask is a powered air-purifying respirator that pairs the belt-worn e3000X blower with Optrel's clear face shield, which gives an unrestricted field of vision. Its HEPA class Th3 filter blocks more than 99.8% of particulates, the system carries NIOSH P100 (42 CFR 84) certification, and the lithium-ion battery runs about 12 hours per charge.

The e3000X guards against smoke and dust as well as hexavalent chromium (CrVI) and other particulates. Two-channel air distribution supplies the mouth and nose with clean air and sends a separate stream to the forehead for cooling, at three flow levels from 200 to 240 nl/min. Integrated air-flow sensors run an automatic check at start-up, so no manual flow test is needed before each use, and audible and visible alarms warn of a missing or clogged filter or a low battery.

The belt-based blower sits at the wearer's center of gravity with easy-to-reach control buttons, and swiveling hose connections at the mask and blower allow full movement with less risk of snagging. With filter, belt and battery it weighs 3.5 lbs. The kit holds the Clearmaxx grinding mask, the blower unit with hose and belt, a protection sleeve, a TH3P R SL filter, the battery with its charger and an instruction manual.
