The Optrel e3000X PAPR with e684 welding helmet is a powered air-purifying welding respirator with a belt-worn blower and a HEPA class Th3 filter rated to stop more than 99.8% of particulates. NIOSH P100 certified under 42 CFR 84, it protects against smoke, dust and hexavalent chromium (CrVI), and its lithium-ion battery delivers about 12 hours of continuous use per charge.

A face seal keeps smoke and debris away from the welder, while two-channel air distribution supplies the mouth and nose with clean air and sends a second stream across the forehead for cooling. Three airflow levels, from 200 to 240 nl/min, suit different conditions and comfort preferences. Integrated flow sensors check the airflow automatically at start-up, and audible and visible alarms warn of a missing or clogged filter or a low battery.

The belt-based blower rides at the wearer's center of gravity with easy-to-reach buttons, and swiveling hose connections at the helmet and blower allow a full range of movement with less risk of snagging. Including filter, belt and battery, the blower unit weighs 3.5 lbs. Along with the e684 welding helmet, the kit includes the blower with its hose and belt, a protection sleeve, a TH3P R SL filter, the battery and its charger, and an instruction manual.
