The Steelmax D1 Auto is a semi-automatic magnetic drill for 115 V that weighs 30 lbs and cuts holes up to 1-3/8 in. (36 mm) in diameter in material up to 2 in. thick. Pushing the handles in starts the auto-feed, and the feed control stops the machine once the hole is finished.

Its MPAC (Magnetic Power Adhesion Control) system blocks drilling whenever the magnet's holding force is insufficient, and an overload control stops the cutting and feeding motors at once. Slugs eject automatically, safety magnet circuitry recognizes holding power, and the magnet draws only 50% power when not under load.

An adjustable cutter guard, through-spindle coolant with a removable reservoir and a maintenance-free rail guide system that limits run-out and cutter breakage complete the drill. This auto-feed magnetic base drill is designed for easy field service and repair, and every aluminum part is heat treated for rigidity.
