The Steelmax D1 LPX is a low profile portable magnetic drill for 115 V power, standing just 7-5/16 in. tall and weighing 22 lbs for work in tight spaces. It cuts holes up to 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) in diameter in material up to 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) thick.

A maintenance-free rail guide system limits run-out, maintains accuracy and cuts down on cutter breakage. The drill adds an adjustable cutter guard and through-spindle coolant with a removable reservoir, and its safety magnet circuitry recognizes the magnetic holding power. The magnet draws only 50% power when not under load, every aluminum part is heat treated for rigidity, and the compact magnetic base drill is designed for easy field service and repair.
