Steelmax D1 CDL Cordless Magnetic Drill, 1-7/16 x 2 in., Two 5.5 Ah Batteries

The Steelmax D1 CDL is a compact cordless magnetic drill that runs on battery power and cuts 1-7/16 in. (36 mm) holes with annular cutters to a 2 in. maximum depth. It also drills 1/2 in. (12 mm) holes with twist drill bits, weighs 25.5 lbs, and comes with two 5.5 Ah batteries, a charger and a plastic case.

A maintenance-free rail guide system keeps run-out low, holds accuracy and reduces cutter breakage. An LED monitoring system signals the drill's condition in green and red and gives the operator safety information, while overload protection and a tilt sensor add further safeguards; the sensor stops the motor if the drill breaks away from the surface. The working height is 12.9 in.

For annular cutter work, through-spindle coolant feeds from a removable reservoir, slugs eject automatically and an adjustable cutter guard shields the cutter. Safety magnet circuitry recognizes the holding power, the magnet draws only 50% power when not under load, every aluminum part is heat treated for rigidity, and the battery mag drill is designed for easy field service and repair.
